The ultimate dream team: KC Scout and the Kansas Chiefs
KDOT
Liaison Michael Flory and TMC Operations Manager Amy Holt are both
employees of the Chiefs
in a partnership that benefits both organizations.
Flory
began working with the Chiefs in 2015 and Holt recently joined the team as well
working her first home game on September 22.
Both
of them currently assist the team with parking, monitoring highway traffic, and
updating the Chiefs staff on roadway incidents that might impact stadium
traffic. He also helps fans get to the stadium and notifies the appropriate
authorities to respond in the event of a medical emergency.
"Working
for KC Scout is an advantage for my job with the Chiefs," explains Flory.
"I can view the
cameras just like I could in the Traffic Management Center. Having myself and
Amy out there takes some of the burden off of
the KC Scout staff also having to monitor the area."
Flory
also says that this partnership helps both parties combat traffic incidents -
especially during snow events.
"Having
someone out there that knows traffic management and can assist quickly in the
event shows great partnership. I can contact the TMC to let them know about any
issues on the roadway."
For
Flory, working for the Chiefs has some extra perks as well. Especially when the
Chiefs, won the 2020 Super Bowl.
"I
was able to buy a Super Bowl ring. It’s a good piece of sports memorabilia to
have. I also have a signed Andy Reid football that I got from a staff
party," he explains.
At
the end of the day Flory and Holt both agree that their favorite part of
working for the Chiefs is making sure that the fans get to and from the stadium safely. They both want fans to have the best game
experience that can be provided.
