Traffic Systems Supervisor, Kelly Alvarez attended the Regional Operations Leadership Forum in Wisconsin
The Regional Operations Leadership Forum (aka ROLF) was hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in Milwaukee on October 8th-10th. Traffic Systems Supervisor, Kelly Alvarez attended the forum with Ploisongsaeng Intaratip, MoDOT Assistant Traffic Liaison.
Fellow participants included those
from ITS, Signals, Operations, Engineering, Planning, Traffic Modeling, Assets
Management and MPOs from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan,
Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and New Jersey.
The three-day training focused on
introducing key TSMO concepts within the Transportation Operations Manual or
the ‘TOM’ such as culture, performance management, business processes, corridor
management, emerging technologies, traffic incident management, planned special
events, and program plan development. Peer presentations on various topics
include INDOT’s Solar Eclipse Response, ODOT’s Traffic Incident Management
Center and their smart corridors, MDOT’s Flex Routes Operation and Performance,
and KC Scout’s CPR program which Alvarez presented on.
A
requirement of attendance included working on a TSMO-focused action plan for
each state. MoDOT’s focus is planning on integrating the Transportation
Operations Manual into MoDOT’s EPG, where applicable, among other future
developments which KC Scout will work to support.
