Recently, KC Scout welcomed National Highway and Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA)'s Aaron Bartlet t back to their Traffic Management Center. The visit kicked off NHTSA's continu ing e ffort to study Move Over laws in the region. Rather than manually tallying results, the organization is looking to use traffic analytics and KC Scout's CCTVs for this traffic study. Their goal is to use a developed Volpe program in KC Scout's environment in conjunction with KC Scout's CCTVs.   Emergency Responder Carlos Campos’ assistance continues to go above and beyond; so much so that he was awarded the People Saving People award from the Missouri Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Advisory Council (LETSAC) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).  Campos recently responded to call for a stalled vehicle. This event included information from a traffic study recently conducted by NHTSA with the help of KC Scout resources.  "This Mother's Day, these five State Patrols are here to remind you to slow down. We hope drivers keep their mothers in mind and get to them safely by slowing down and moving over for emergency vehicles," Susan DeCourcy, NHTSA Regional Administrator said.  According to NHTSA, all 50 states have Move Over laws to protect law enforcement officers and other first responders stopped on our Nation's roads but  many drivers are unaware of these laws  and traffic-related incidents continue to be the number one cause of death among on-duty law enforcement officers. Prior to this event, NHTSA conducte...
